Between song and experiment
The Modular Beat has been active since 2012. Dennis Klein and Michael Keuth combine electronic production with strings, guitars, percussion and programmed drums, allowing acoustic gestures and synthetic structures to continually reshape one another.
The music resists a single genre. Pop and rock forms appear, dissolve into ambient space and return through psychedelic repetition, experimental arrangements or traces of jazz and 1970s music.
